PUBLIC NOTICE 

Innovative Readiness Training Program 

The John Lyon VFW Post 3150 intends to solicit assistance from the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training Program (IRT). The assistance will include installing a concrete pad and refurbishing the aged 3” Artillery Piece in front of the local VFW Post. The proposed service will occur at John Lyon VFW Post 3150, 2116 19th St. N, Arlington, VA 22201, between 2023 and 2025. Construction contractors, labor unions, or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition to military assistance for this project may contact Mr. James Bertine from the John Lyon VFW Post 3150 at 703-535-0108 or via e-mail at no later than thirty (30) days after the first publication of this notice. Persons not filing comments within the time frame noted will be considered to have waived their objections to military assistance for this project.

DATA and NOVA Veterans Win Federal Grant to Help Senior or Disabled Veterans Get to Vaccination Sites

Reston, VA – MAY 5, 2021 – The Dulles Area Transportation Association (DATA) and the Northern Virginia Veterans Association (NOVA Veterans) have been awarded federal funding for a joint project to provide veterans who are disabled or over 65 with transportation to COVID-19 vaccination appointments. While vaccination availability has increased, an escalating critical transportation crisis is preventing our most vulnerable veterans from getting vaccinated. This is particularly problematic for those veterans who receive their medical care from distant Veterans Administration medical facilities and are without reliable transportation.
